Women are 51% of the population
All women will go through the Menopause
Menopause is a natural part of the ageing process
Perimenopausal symptoms usually start between the ages of 40 and 50. Transition through menopause on average takes 4 years, but can take 12 years and symptoms can continue months or years after your last period.
1 in 100 people will go through early menopause, before the age of 40.
Menopause is caused by changes in the balance of your sex hormones, when your ovaries stop producing as much oestrogen, resulting in eggs no longer being released. This can be part of the natural ageing process or induced through medical procedures.
